Is Thrive Market Worth it For Gluten Free?

Is Thrive Market worth it for gluten free? I say, definitely yes. Especially if you don’t like going to the grocery store and want more GF variety in your life.

I just had a lunch of gluten free chicken fingers, fried pickles, and blueberries, and I’m feeling pretty good about myself. Maybe it doesn’t sound like the healthiest thing, but it’s a rare treat in this gluten free life. Also, in my defense, the Apple Gate Naturals Chicken Breast Tenders are from humanely raised chicken, and don’t contain any antibiotics, chemical nitrites, nitrates, or added hormones. Similarly, the fried pickles don’t contain any artificial flavors or synthetic colors. Both products—Apple Gate Naturals Chicken Breast Tenders and Feel Good Foods Fried Pickles are certified gluten free and arrived to my house via carbon-neutral shipping from Thrive Market.

My wild child of 19 months has snacked on Simple Mills Crackers all morning, which are delicious, grain free, and made from healthy seed and nut flour blends. While my picky 5 year old is on her 2nd “Mom Pouch” of the day— a Mamma Chia’s Blueberry Açaí Prebiotic Pouches, that is. The pouches are supposed to be for me, hence the name, but they are so full of Omega-3s and healthy for you, that I’m glad she loves them!

But the very best part is that despite having all this yummy and nutritious food in the house, I haven’t been to the grocery for anything but produce and dairy products in a very, very long time. Yet my gluten free pantry and freezer are stocked, folks! Stocked with better-for-you (and the environment) gluten free foods that my family loves. That is the magic of Thrive Market.

“I miss hunting for gluten free items at the grocery store,” said no one ever. If you think gluten free grocery delivery from Thrive Market may be for you, you’re probably right. It definitely made my gluten free life easier.

Staying at home and quickly finding tons of gluten free products on Thrive’s easily searchable, helpful, and informative database of products definitely beats combing grocery store aisles and figuring out if an item is gluten free on the spot.

Let’s Get Real About Affordability

Let’s get price out of the way and talk about that up front. I only pay $59.95 for an annual plan and get access to tons of healthy and high-quality gluten free products all in one spot.

That comes to $4.99 a month for all the gluten free products I need delivered right to my door. You probably spend more on a crappy streaming subscription you barely use (me too, it’s ok).

Prices for items are comparable or less than what you’d find at the grocery. They also have frequent 25% off and other sales on favorite items! $2.00 off boxes off Simple Mills Crackers, for example, goes a long way.

You’ll get free shipping on pantry orders over $49 and frozen orders over $120. So if you need to justify it any further, with your $59.95 there are no additional shipping costs if you buy over a certain amount.

Also, if you use this link you get 30% off your purchase and a $60 FREE gift when you join Thrive Market, so your membership is already paid for!

SNACKS

Simple Mills Farmhouse Cheddar Almond Flour Crackers- I love these crackers! They might even be my favorite gluten free cracker ever since they satisfy Cheez-It cravings while being much better for you.

Good Crisp Company Potato– This better-for-you Pringle is THE number one best gluten free chip I’ve found. Good Crisps come in delicious flavors like Sour Cream & Onion, BBQ, and Aged White Cheddar to name a few. They also have a canned snack pack option! Perfect for packed lunches.

Whisps Asiago and Pepper Jack Cheese Crisps– The flavor of this baked cheese “chip” snack was a little intense, but a nice chip alternative, and its also high in calcium (25% daily value per serving) and protein (12g per serving).

Hippie Snacks Avocado Crisps- These were interesting… I don’t think I’m in danger of demolishing a bag in one sitting. They may be worth a try if you are a big avocado fan. It would be a good healthy car snack to pack for trips.

Late July Jalapeño Lime Tortilla Chips- I was SO pleasantly surprised by these! I usually stay away from lime-flavored things because they remind me of when Tostitos did it and they tasted so synthetic and awful. Late July’s are a million times better, and I love the spice of the jalapeño mixed in.

ON-THE-GO SNACKS

Mission Meats Kid’s Beef Sticks– These are such a good on-the-go snack alternative to bars and things, and I’ve been enjoying them more than I thought I would. They are also nice to throw into an impromptu charcuterie board for lunch with a crackers, hummus, cheese, and/or fruit.

Mamma Chia Prebiotic Chia Squeeze, Blueberry Acai- At this point you could say I’m buying these for both me and the kids. They contain 1200mg of ALA Omega-3, 6g of Prebiotic Fiber, and 2g of Plant-Based Protein, so I’m cool with sharing.

Brainiac Brain Squeezers Pouches- Full of omega-3s and choline for healthy brain development, which is nice because my kids love them!

Patience Fruit & Co. Organic Whole Wild Dried Blueberries- What a sweet car snack and satisfying combination of tart and sweet. Also a good source of fiber.

SWEET TREATS

Siete Churro Strips- I’M IN LOVE with this this satisfying and addicting snack! They are sweetened with coconut sugar and are grain free—being primarily made of cassava flour, which I had to look up. In case you didn’t know, cassava is a root vegetable and superfood! I would definitely recommend giving these a try.

Siete Mexican Wedding Cake Grain Free Cookies- I had high hopes for these after how much I love Siete’s Churro Strips and these Mexican Wedding Cookies did not disappoint! Siete is now a new favorite brand of mine, so exciting!

Schar Chocolate Honeygrams– Schar’s Chocolate Honeygrams require some self restraint. I ate 1/3 of a box the first day I bought them. That chocolate is soooo good.

Heavenly Hunks Oatmeal Chocolate Chip “Gluten Free Bites”– Pretty coconutty. I think they should have named it Heavenly Hunks Coconut bites. If you like or love coconut, you’ll be pleased. They are literally hunks of chewy coconut chocolate “cookie” after all.

PASTA AND PASTA MIXES

Bananza Mac n Cheese – Very easy to make. I’m not familiar with chick pea pasta so the texture was a little different for me, but it certainly wasn’t bad. It is very nutritious; my little wild child loves it, I gave it to her for her birthday lunch when she turned one year old.

Jovial Pastas – Jovial is the best of the best of gluten free pasta as far as I’m concerned. There are currently more than 20 TYPES OF JOVIAL GLUTEN FREE PASTA ON THRIVE! HOLY MOLY!

Baking and Pancake Mixes and Flour Blends

FLOUR BLENDS AND BAKING MIXES

King Arthur Gluten Free Cookie Mix- I got this in my last order and am excited to try it. I know a lot of people swear by King Arthur’s mix for the best gluten free cookies.

King Arthur Gluten Free Ultimate Fudge Brownie Mix- I HAVE made this mix many times and it’s just the best. These brownies are so fudgy and delicious. A batch doesn’t last long in my house.

Bob’s Red Mill 1-to-1 Baking Flour– A gluten free pantry staple and one of the best all-purpose gluten free flour blends for any baking endeavor

So Much More in Thrive Market Pantry Items

THERE’S SO MUCH MORE IN THE THRIVE MARKET GLUTEN FREE PANTRY LIKE…

Schar Hotdog Rolls and Hamburger Buns – Schar makes some excellent buns, and it’s nice not to have to go out of your way at the grocery to find them!

Thrive Market Gluten Free Frozen Items

BREAKFAST

Everything Bagels- These everything bagels are a big win since you rarely see bagels in groceries. I discovered them on my last order and have been waiting til I get some cream cheese to try some!

Katz Donuts- They are donuts and Katz makes them, of course they are delicious. These are something that a lot of specialty food stores have, but getting gluten free donuts delivered to you feels pretty posh.  I’m not upset about living in a world where Katz donuts get delivered to my door. Eating these donuts are a real treat.

Birch Benders Blueberry Paleo Grain-Free Waffles- Birch Bender Waffles have a different taste to them that I can’t quite put my finger on, but my kids scarf them down! Which is great since they are a pretty healthy waffle. They are made from the super food, tiger nut flour which is rich in calcium, phosphorus, potassium, iron, zinc, folic acid, vitamins C and E, as well as healthy fats and proteins.

Feel Good Foods Pancake Bites- I thought these would be weird at best and inedible at worst, but they are actually pretty tasty. Definitely much easier to make than real pancakes if you want the real thing, but don’t have the time.

FROZEN MEALS/SIDES

Kevin’s Mashed Sweet Potatoes– We had these with my dad and step mom for an easy lake dinner with the Kevin’s cauliflower mac and cheese, discussed below, and some rotisserie chicken. Everybody loved these Kevin’s sides!

Kevin’s Cauliflower Mac n Cheese- A vegetable hidden in my kids’ favorite dish?!? Yes, please! Don’t let the strong cauliflower smell when you first open the package deter you, this Mac n cheese will please both kids and adults, and give you vegetable points as a bonus.

Feel Good Foods Pizza Snack Bites- If you’re a pizza fan, and who isn’t? You should try these! The cauliflower crust is surprisingly flaky and doughy for being GF. I even had a moment of panic in the middle of eating them when I ran to double check that they were gluten free. They are, thank goodness!

Feel Good Foods Crispy Jalapeño Bites- All the jalapeño popper feels. Just the right amount of spicy to eat either by themselves or with a little bit of ranch.

Feel Good Foods Potstickers- I’ve never had potstickers before and I flat out didn’t like them. Maybe I’m not a potsticker person 🙁

Feel Good Foods Mac & Cheese Bites- Genius, I tell you! Simply genius. Dip in some hot sauce and/or ranch and feel like you’re eating real, live bar food.

ICECREAM & SMOOTHIES

Jolly Llama Vanilla Sandwich- This icecream sandwich gave me all the feels of a real thing. Love it! My daughters do as well.

Sweet Nothings Spoonable Smoothie- My picky 5 year old, who often won’t touch a vegetable with 12 foot pole, loves the green one.

LASTLY IN FROZEN

Thrive also offers a variety of frozen meat as well as frozen “meat” for vegan folks.

They seriously have soo many gluten free products, I feel like this list barely scratched the surface.

But, what do you think? Does a lot of this food sound good?
