12 Mostly Practical Gifts for Gluten Free People
I’ve been making this list, checking it twice…wanting to make sure I’ve included all the most excellently merry and (mostly) practical Christmas gifts for gluten free people.
Show the gluten free people in your life that you’re thinking about them and have put some thought into gifts that support their well-being.
Or perhaps you’re the gluten free person and people have been asking what you want for Christmas. If you’re like me and get a deer-in-the-headlights feeling when you get asked this question, then this list will definitely help with that.
These are gifts that gluten free people will actual use and enjoy!
P.S. – If you are a Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky local then stick around til the end for the Cincy Local section with some gluten free gifts specific to the area.

1. Membership to Thrive Market
The Gluten Free Gift that Keeps Giving All Year Long
Gluten free is my life. I do a lot of research and I try a lot of stuff, and a Thrive Market membership is the best thing you can do right now to make someone’s gluten free life easier and more enjoyable.
Thrive Market has such a wide variety of gluten free products—I feel like I’m always discovering something new. It really opens your eyes to the products out there if you’ve been relying on just a grocery store or two.
Getting everything in one place and delivered to your door is the height of convenience. If you’re wondering about price, a membership is $60, but this covers all your shipping if you meet minimums for your purchases (which is not at all hard to do). Thrive also has competitive pricing for all of their products, frequent sales, and price matching.
Gift a healthy treat to friends & family with a new membership and/or shopping credit!
2. Gift Card to Bibibop
The Gluten Free Gift for Those Who Love a Good GF Bowl
Bibibop has quickly become a gluten free obsession and staple in our gf realm. Those who don’t live near one are driving long distances to check it out. While those who do live close (like us) have quickly added it to their weekly line up.
Bibibop is an 100% gluten free Asian fast-casual restaurant chain featuring plenty of choices for protein, veggies, rice, and sauces to create nutritious bowls. They even have gluten free cookies—snickerdoodle and chocolate chip!
You can purchase gift cards here:
You can also give the gift of sauce as I just discovered some of Bibibop’s sauces (gluten free yum yum sauce!!!) can be found on Amazon.
3. Membership to Gluten Dude App
The Gluten Free Gift for People Who Loving Eating Out, Traveling, and/or Beer
My Gluten Dude App is my new favorite toy. It saved my butt just the other day when I was striking out trying to find a restaurant that would accommodate a big group and have safe gluten free options near where my mother-in-law lives.
I had exhausted the suggestions from the area’s gluten free Facebook group and was at an impasse. The app revealed a number of options I hadn’t heard about elsewhere and led me to a Melting Pot which I was super excited about.
The Gluten Dude app is sooo helpful as it describes 100% GF, User Suggested, and Gluten Dude Vetted restaurants by location. It also includes where to find gluten free airport food and beer!
Life-time memberships to Gluten Dude are available so this can be a one-and-done gift purchase without having to worry about a monthly fee.
4. Intro to Macarons Class
The Gluten Free Gift For Those Who Love a Unique Experience
Oddly enough, I get intense macaron cravings every once in awhile. There’s nothing else like the texture, and I love all the subtle flavors.
Most macarons are gluten free as they are made with almond flour, but beware of any add-ins or shared kitchen space that would make them not gluten free.
All the macarons at Macaron Bar are gluten free though! Macaron Bar has locations in Cincinnati, Chicago, Columbus, Louisville, Indianapolis, and Pittsburgh. Though they’ll ship them to you as well.
They have some holiday deals going on right now, and as previously mentioned, also offer classes on making them. What a fun and delicious Christmas gift!
5. An I Got Glutened Care Kit
The Gluten Free Gift They’ll Need When They’re Down and Out
Ok, this is kind of a weird one. But if I were on the receiving end of this, I think I would be super appreciative of how thoughtful it is. Maybe arrange everything in a cute basket with a heating pad, throw, fun water bottle, or thermos? This idea is gold. I’m no medical professional, but a combination of the below things (over time and with lots of water) helps me.
- Ginger Tea – for nausea
- Glutenease – to hopefully help symptoms ease more quickly
- Aloe Vera Juice – to comfort and heal your gut
- Electrolyte Drink – for hydration
- Bone Broth – for hydration, digestion, and inflammation
- Pineapple Juice – to reduce gut inflammation, and help to break down protein
- Heating Pad – comfort for those bad aches and chills
- Rice – my go-to first solid
The next time they accidentally eat some gluten, they’ll be so thankful for you and your thoughtfulness!
6. Portable Food Warmer
The Gluten Free Gift for Office Workers
This Crock-Pot 20 Oz Electric Lunch Box/Portable Food Warmer is such a cool idea and they are so cute too! If I worked in an office, I would take this for lunch with me everyday because those office microwaves can get nasty! One of these bad boys could save you from a potential cross-contamination (and germ) nightmare.
These portable warmers are also great for a hot, safe meal on road trips when safe restaurant/fast food options may be slim.
7. Gluten Free Substitutions Cookbook
The Gluten Free Gift for the Wannabe Master Baker
I already mentioned this on my GFG Facebook page, but The Elements of Baking makes a super gift. It’s a beautiful cookbook that teaches how to successfully make any recipe gluten, dairy, and/or egg free. There’s also numerous recipes and written by the creator of the Loopy Whisk. Wow, classy present.
9. Date Night to Their Favorite (Trusted) Restaurant
Gluten Free Gift for Someone Who Needs a Night Out
What’s a better present than a night to a favorite/trusted gluten free restaurant?! You could even make a cute little coupon that can be cashed in at some later point in time.
It would also be super impressive if you did your own research to find a safe and delicious restaurant that they’ve never been to. Swoon.
At first I was approaching this as a date night, but what a fun idea to take a parent, child, sibling, or friend out as a present too. Let them know you’re thinking about them and put some thought into where they’d love to go!
10. Warming Carrier
Gluten Free Gift for the Life of the Party
I always forget the logistics of taking a piping hot gluten free casserole or side dish out of the oven to transport to a party until it’s upon me. All of a sudden we are scrambling for a towel or something to wrap around this incredibly hot dish to get it out to the car so we can get to the party on time. Then you have to make sure this incredibly hot thing is secure in the car, so it doesn’t tip and spill all over the place. Fun stuff! Someone please get me the Lifewit Casserole Carrier.
11. Swag to Support the Celiac College Guide
The Gluten Free Gift that’s Also a Donation
I first heard about the Celiac College Guide when I was gathering information to write my gluten free resources post. The Celiac College Guide is a directory to help prospective GF college students find the right school for them. The directory is very helpful with reviews of student experiences and filters such as GF provisions (GF pantry, kitchen, dining hall, etc.), school size, and acceptance rate.
The Celiac College Guide has partnered with a couple cool businesses to help fund their cause. One is the Gluten Free Supply Company, who sells creative products to help navigate a shared cooking environment (10% of sales go to the Celiac College Guide).
Or you can build a gluten free cookie box with Patti’s Bake Shop and 20% goes to the Celiac College Guide.

Looking Glass Restaurant Gift Cards
Emery, S.W. Clyborne (“Clyborne’s”), Fretboard, Tahona, Toast & Berry, and now Looking Glass Hospitality’s latest restaurant, Alara (an upscale concept), are all safe, delicious, and unique. This group has set the gold standard for exceptional gluten free dining
Here’s what they say on their about page—I just love this, it epitomizes the experience of a gluten free individual at one of their restaurants so well!
“With Looking Glass restaurants, Scott and Will consciously moved away from the overly scripted service model so often seen today and set out to create customized hospitality-centric environments that put the guest’s desires and needs front and center.”
So amazing, and I know so many gluten free Cincinnatians are so thankful them. Get a gift card today that can be used at any location.
